Eat your food, hoist a beer or two, and bowl, play tech-infused mini golf, or hit your favorite course in the golf simulator bays. A new “eatertainment” experience is coming to Downtown Gainesville in the Historic Walton Jackson Building.
DECOY, an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere, will entice you to have fun with family, friends, even work friends while being wowed by an appealing culinary and beverage menu. Within this revitalized 16,000 square foot space, patrons will gravitate to duckpin bowling, tech-infused mini golf, or golf simulator bays. Before, during, or after the games, choose from an elevated but approachable new American cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails, wines from an extensive collection, and a large selection of beer, in bottles and on tap. Enjoy the food in the dining area, 40+ person bar, private dining areas, or game bays. An outdoor biergarten will top off this perfect spot for a date night, a corporate event, happy hour, or even a birthday party.
“Ever since I moved back home to Gainesville, I heard people ask about something fun to do. I’ve been fortunate to witness the great connection between playing or watching golf and eating good food at our first restaurant, Chattahoochee Grill at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.” Owner Rand Carswell is now spearheading the effort to eat, drink, and play! With a sentimental appreciation for his hometown’s history, he immediately was attracted to the Downtown area and the Walton Jackson Building. Ruminating over the unique elements and past businesses in the building, Rand is excited to bring the space back to life and the intention toward the décor, food, atmosphere, and experience he gets to share.
DECOY is projected to open late fall 2023.
